Transcription of CEO’s Message
Welcome and thanks for visiting this website. I’m Rusty Knight, Mercy’s President and CEO, and I want you to be aware of some of the amazing things we’ve achieved as an organization this year and why it’s important to you.
We’ve been recognized as one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the country this year (2008), and one of the 20 Top Large Community Hospitals. We’ve also been re-designated as a Magnet hospital, a feat achieved by fewer than 2% of all the hospitals in the country, and one that really represents the gold standard for excellence in patient care services.
We also were named the Employer of the Year by the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce. All in all, it’s been a remarkable year.
These awards are important because they differentiate Mercy as the regional health care leader. No other health care organization in Dubuque has achieved these levels of recognition.
Beyond our own claims, national organizations monitoring health care have recognized our outstanding performance. You can have total confidence that when you choose Mercy, you’re choosing the regional leader in quality and in value.
We ask you to do three things. First, trust us with all your health care needs. Second, ask your doctor to treat you at Mercy. Third, if by chance your company does not include Mercy in its insurance plans, speak with your employer about that. And on behalf of all of us here at Mercy, thanks for taking the time to visit this site.
